Europe was ruled by the church and by nobility for centuries. On common folk s shoulders rabble they were called by the authorities both, the church and the rich established their wealth. This was the irrevocable divine world order. Indeed a dark age...

But in the 15th century the world order also began to change. Humble citizens acquired posessions, wealth and power by trading and hard work and whole towns bought their freedom and more privilegues from their ruling noblemen. The ability to read and write wasn t anymore a privilegue for the rich and the invention of letterprinting made it possible to spread information nearly everywhere. This is the begin of the Renaissance.
